The GRP (Gas, Renewables & Power) branch brings together TotalEnergies' activities in gas, electricity, and renewable energy. It embodies the Company's ambition in low-carbon businesses as well as in energy efficiency solutions. Elle porte l'ambition de la Compagnie dans les métiers bas carbone ainsi que dans les métiers de l'efficacité énergétique. As part of its goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, TotalEnergies is strengthening its presence across the entire electricity value chain, with a particular focus on renewable energy and flexible assets. To maximize the value of these assets on short-term markets, TotalEnergies Gas & Power is active from long-term trading to Day-Ahead, intraday, and ancillary services optimization. This is done through a pan-European approach that integrates generation (CCGT, wind, solar), flexibility sources (demand response, batteries), and consumption. The position is part of the algorithmic trading team based in Paris, working in close coordination with several European sites. The environment is highly volatile and competitive, shaped by economic, political, and climate-related factors. The role operates on a 5-day-a-week basis, with strong collaboration with the intraday trading and dispatching teams, which are active 24/7. The trader is responsible for algorithmic trading on European short-term power markets and the associated P&L. Dans le cadre de son objectif de neutralité carbone à l'horizon 2050, TotalEnergies renforce sa présence sur toute la chaîne de valeur de l'électricité, notamment dans les énergies renouvelables et les actifs flexibles. Pour valoriser ces actifs sur les marchés court terme, TotalEnergies Gas & Power intervient du trading long terme à l'optimisation Day-Ahead, intra-journalière et des services auxiliaires, via une approche pan-européenne intégrant production (CCGT, éolien, solaire), flexibilités (effacement, batteries) et consommation. Le poste s'intègre à l'équipe de trading algorithmique basée à Paris, en lien avec plusieurs sites européens. L'environnement est très volatil et concurrentiel, influencé par des facteurs économiques, politiques et climatiques. Le rythme de travail est sur une base 5 jours / 7, avec une forte coordination avec les équipes de trading infra-journalier et de dispatching actives 24h/24 et 7j/7. Le trader est responsable du trading algorithmique sur les marchés européens à court terme et du P&L associé. * You will play a central role in the creation of a dedicated algorithmic trading squad, actively contributing to the structuring and launch of this new strategic activity. * As an Algorithmic Trader, you will directly contribute to the short-term power trading P&L, supporting TotalEnergies Gas & Power's ambition to become a major player in the European electricity markets. * You will develop speculative intraday trading strategies in line with the company's risk management policies and internal compliance rules. You will work closely with IT teams and other internal stakeholders across multiple European sites. * Your responsibilities will include analyzing and continuously improving existing algorithms, as well as developing new models and short-term predictive signals. You will process and interpret large volumes of data (market data, orders, transactions) to enhance model performance. You will also contribute to the analysis of European market trends in collaboration with the short-term power trading teams, identifying new opportunities. * Vous jouerez un rôle central dans la création d'une squad dédiée au trading algorithmique, en participant activement à la structuration et au lancement de cette nouvelle activité stratégique. * En tant que Trader Algorithmique, vous contribuerez directement à la performance du P&L sur les marchés de l'électricité à court terme, dans le cadre de l'ambition de TotalEnergies Gas & Power de devenir un acteur majeur en Europe. * Vous développez des stratégies de trading spéculatif infra-journalier, en conformité avec la politique de gestion des risques et les règles internes. Vous collaborez étroitement avec les équipes IT et les autres pôles internes répartis sur plusieurs sites européens. * Votre mission inclut l'analyse et l'amélioration continue des algorithmes existants, ainsi que le développement de nouveaux modèles et signaux prédictifs. Vous traitez et interprétez de larges volumes de données (marché, ordres, transactions) pour affiner les performances des modèles. Vous participez également à l'analyse des évolutions des marchés européens en lien avec les équipes de trading court terme, afin d'identifier de nouvelles opportunités.
Profils recherchés
You hold a degree in engineering, mathematics, economics, or finance. With at least three years of experience in short-term power trading and algorithmic strategies, you have developed strong technical expertise, particularly in programming, with a preference for Python. Your analytical approach is advanced, combining modeling, data science, and quantitative rigor. You thrive in collaborative environments and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Organized and detail-oriented, you enjoy working in fast-paced and demanding settings. Above all, you are driven by the desire to contribute to an ambitious and entrepreneurial project. Vous êtes issu d'une formation supérieure en ingénierie, mathématiques, économie ou finance. Fort d'au moins trois ans d'expérience en trading d'électricité sur les marchés court terme et en stratégies algorithmiques, vous avez développé une solide expertise technique, notamment en programmation, avec une préférence pour Python. Votre approche analytique est poussée, combinant modélisation, data science et rigueur quantitative. Vous évoluez avec aisance dans un environnement collaboratif, en communiquant efficacement avec des équipes pluridisciplinaires. Organisé et rigoureux, vous appréciez les environnements dynamiques et exigeants. Enfin, vous êtes animé par l'envie de contribuer à un projet entrepreneurial stimulant.
